The cupcake showdown took place Friday night. I had a tough day and ever-the-amazing husband Jon sent me off to run errands (aka window shop). I needed to return something to Anthro at UVillage (soon to be the location of the one and only H&M in Seattle! ) and decided to hit the cupcake place at the last minute. Trophy Cupcake is located in an old building in Wallingford and has just a tiny spot, barely large enough for some retail space and a few tables. It was about 7:30 and they have very few cupcakes left. I ordered two triple chocolates, the last snickerdoodle and 2 vanilla with chocolate frosting. I also ordered a "tranquil" loose leaf tea and headed off to my errands. I mosied around Anthro for a while, just because it was peaceful and smells so darn good! Then I hit Goodwill for good measure and bought a chess game, just because I have always wanted to learn how to play!
I brought the cupcakes home to share with Jon (not all of them silly!) and the taste test began. We split a triple chocolate and the snickerdoodle. First bite, okay. Second and third bites? Not so much. I didn't even finish it! The cake was way to fluffy, not dense enough and the frosting was sickeningly sweet. Kind of like grocery store frosting. Bottom line is Cupcake Royale still rocks it but if you want to try both when you come visit, I will take you on the Seattle Cupcake tour. Sound good?

I'm there girl! When can I come?
You always know the fun things to do.
What's H & M?
Looks like you'll have to introduce the M in Law to H & M. I agree, that Cupcake Royale is Best, if you can't go to NYC to Billy's cupcakes in Chelsea.
