I have this friend named Emily. She lived across the circle from us and on hot summer days Darice and I would stop by her house and have her fill up her plastic cups with water and crushed ice from her fridge. See, Darice and I didn't have ice makers and water dispensers on the front of our refrigerators. And we both LOVE crushed ice (best combo ever which D. turned me onto: diet coke in a styrofoam cup with crushed ice. Heaven in a cup.) and craved crushed ice on those sweltering Baltimore summer days. Emily was always gracious but maybe got tired of us using her plastic cups (second best combo: diet coke in a tall plastic cup with crushed ice) so she bought D. and I each a few plastic cups. We're talking true friendship here. Em's husband was the one I called one night (Darryl was gone, he has a bit more presence than B., no offense B.!) when I thought I heard a noise outside my house and Jon was working. He came right over with a golf club and walked all around our house in the dark. Again, true friendship.
So how lucky and I that Em and B. will most likely, almost 99% sure, move to the Seattle area in a few years? So very very lucky. They came for a week after Christmas and toured all around town getting to know all of the nooks and crannies of Seattle. Oooooh, I can't wait for them to move here! She is 6ish months pregnant with her fourth and looks uh-mazing of course.

How fun for you! I wish all my good friends from all over lived here around me! That would be heaven!
how fun to get to see them. i heard you cooked a great dinner, but what is new! how fun will it be for you guys if they do move up that way. so excited for you!!!
Argh! I just finished a diet coke with 1/2 moon ice--not crushed. I still have the hook up at that house, but I'm just not as comfortable sauntering over in my pj's to interrupt their evening for some ice. Ah, the good ol' days.
i'm glad i meant so much to you guys! i guess a true friend would have left you with the original cups... but i'm glad your little gifts did the job! d- half moon ice is NOT allowed in a drink... ever! those were some good times. b and i are laughing at your darryl comment... what? are you saying that b doesn't look as tough as darryl?! golf club and all!? i do miss those days- we had it good. it was so good to see you guys. always good conversation, good food and good times with you guys!
and no... i never got tired of you guys!!
