Vegetarian In A Heartbeat

On Friday night my darling friend Frida and I hit the city for some food and conversation. We headed down to the Phinney Ridge neighborhood where she suggested Carmelita- a vegetarian restaraunt. I was in the mood for something hearty but wanted to try something new so I agreed. The dining room was darling and cozy, perfect for the first really chilly evening of the season. The service was fabulous and the restaraunt was packed but not overflowing. Perfect. We ordered the antipasto platter to share for an appetizer and the grilled flatbread that came with it was amazing. We both ordered the marscapone-polenta torte and I was in love with being a vegetarian. The polenta had a crisp crust on the outside and was soft and perfect in the middle. We both left stuffed, no room for dessert! I was pleasantly surprised at how filling everything was and how wonderfully it tasted. If my sister Kristen ever visits me here (you too Julie S.!!!) we are going there. If I could eat like that every day I would never miss the meat...
