Day In Tacoma

With Stephanie and her family in town for a week we did a lot of exploring, eating, exploring, eating, eating and eating. They (and we!) are lovers of good food and Seattle did not disappoint!

For Memorial Day we planned a day trip to Tacoma which we had never been to! First we headed for an early lunch to Jimmy Mac's Roadhouse, a place that had gotten great reviews online. The kids were in heaven because on the way in you can grab a bowl of peanuts, shell them at your table and then throw the shells on the floor! Heard: "This is the best day ever, we need to come here every day!". The food was great and we were ready to head off to the Living History Museum at Fort Nisqually. The weather was perfect and the park was amazing. You could spend days there and not see it all! While at the park we took a train ride with a guide explaining the local logging industry. Noah was speechless and sat STILL the entire time. "Choo choo trains" are his favorite and he couldn't believe he was riding on one! Next we hit Mad Jack's Ice Cream Concoctions where the kids had chocolate chip cookie dough cones and Jon, Noah and I shared an amazing banana split with mexican chocolate, peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. Amazing! We split ways with Stephanie and her family and headed home while they went to the Museum of Glass.

We really enjoyed Tacoma and are planning to go again soon! I guess you can go ahead and move there Em, we'll come visit you!
